Black lines designate areas covered with wax to protect the color that has just been applied. Gray lines are used to show wax remaining from previous steps, protecting colors applied before.

Step 1
Pencil
Use Basic Division B.   Step 2
White
    Use a fine kistka for the first parallel lines.
 
 

Step 3
White

 

  Use a fine kistka for the remainder of the white lines. Dye the egg yellow.   Step 4
Yellow
    Use a fine kistka for the lines in the diamond and for spirals within the windmill sections. Use a medium kistka for the petals and spirals above the petals.
 
 

Step 5
Green
Dye

  Dab on or paint light blue or light green dye to the areas shown.  

Step 6
Green

 

    Cover the green areas with a medium kistka. Dye the egg orange.
 
 

Step 7
Orange

  Use a medium and/or heavy kistka. Dye the egg brown or any other darker color.  

Step 8
Brown

 

    The egg is ready to have the wax removed. Remove the wax by holding the egg to the side of the candle flame for a few seconds until the wax starts to melt. Do not put the egg on top of the flame! Wipe away the melted wax with a tissue or paper towel. Do small portions one at a time until all of the wax is melted off.
  Step 9
Finished
